It often occurs at the 30th of the twelfth lunar month. It is called New Year's Eve . The last day of the year is called "Suichu", the night is called "Chuxi".  Lunar 2013 New Year's Eve is on January 30, 2014.

    According to "Annals • Winter Season" records , the ancients used drumming way to expel "ghost epidemic scrofulaceum " in the day before New Year 's Day, which is the origin of the "New Year's Eve". Allegedly, the earliest mention of "New Year’s Eve" is in the "endemic" by Zhouchu and other historical records in the Western Jin Dynasty.
